I saw Alaskan brown bears -- which are a type of grizzly bear -- in Alaska. I went to Katmai National Park, where many brown bears gather to catch salmon when the salmon are swimming up river. A river there, the Brooks River, and the Brooks River falls, too, are very popular with the bears because so many salmon swim up that river. I was with a group of 18 people and a bear biologist who led the group and taught us about the bears. We saw dozens of brown bears. The one in your photo is huge! We saw big ones and smaller ones and some cubs, too. Thank you for doing this blog. It is great to read about such animals.
